What First-Time Rowers say

I got to try a new sport as an adult in a safe, controlled environment - and felt proud of what we accomplished.

what to expect in your half-day

  1. Start indoors: learn the rowing stroke basics and how we communicate in the boat.
  2. Safety & setup: PFDs, equipment handling, and what to do around the dock
  3. Get on the water: row in stable boats on the North Saskatchewan River with a coach-led group
  4. Wrap-up: leave with clear next steps if you want to continue in our Learn-to-Row program.

Rowing is low impact and beginner-friendly – curiosity is the only requirement.

Coaching You Can Trust

Your Intro to Rowing session is led by certified coaches and delivered as a structured, beginner-friendly progression (not “figure-it-out-as-you-go”).

  • Clear instruction designed for first-timers
  • Safety rules taught up front
  • Supportive environment – questions are not just welcomed, they’re encouraged

Pricing

$45 including tax.

Includes coaching and session equipment use.

Join the waitlist for the session you want. Due to Intro to Rowing popularity, we cannot guarantee that you’ll be enrolled in the session you want if it’s already full. We suggest finding an alternate listed date that works for you.

Most participants continue into Adult or Youth Learn-to-Row programs.

We row rain or shine! Unless the water levels are dangerously high and/or fast, or there is lightning, we will not cancel a session. If we cancel a session due to inclement weather, we will do our best to reschedule you into an available session or reschedule for a new, unlisted date and time.
