Thanks to everyone who participated in the July survey regarding the club hosting a fall regatta.
Taking into account all the responses, the ERC Board has approved the Telford Bulrush Stake Race to take place on Telford Lake, Leduc on Saturday October 4, 2025. Alberta and Saskatchewan clubs will be invited to race in this inaugural event.
Crews will race up the lake, turn around the “stake” and race back down to finish a fast-moving and epic 4 kilometres. The entry fee will be $65.00 plus the RCA seat fee. The entry fee includes lunch at the venue.
Steering the competition is past president and past regatta chair Robert Swart. Having started his regatta apprenticeship with the 2005 World Master Games, he has piloted many previous ERC regattas at Telford Lake. The Club thanks Rob for providing his expertise for this event.
The ERC Board is appreciative to all the members who have indicated their willingness to volunteer with the hosting of the regatta. Rob Swart will be contacting those survey participants who have volunteered for the event.
