The Edmonton Rowing Club made a powerful statement at the 2025 Western Canada Sprints Regatta in Regina, Saskatchewan on June 14, with strong finishes across Junior, Senior, and Masters rowing categories. Despite high winds, threat of wildfire smoke, and a condensed schedule, our athletes showed grit, skill, and speed – proving once again that Edmonton crews can be a force in Canadian rowing.

Wind Warriors
On Thursday, the host committee nearly pulled the plug due to potential wildfire smoke and high wind forecasts. Ultimately, the regatta went ahead – with tighter scheduling: just 10 minutes between starts and shorter breaks. Water conditions worsened throughout the day, but all Edmonton Rowing Club boats stayed upright and crossed their finish lines – many with medals.
Performances proved that even when conditions aren’t ideal, Edmonton athletes rise to the challenge.
